Where is the a and p show held? It was held in Christchurch for the first time in the year 1862 at Canterbury
Agricultural Park.
The history of the Canterbury A&P show stands for Agricultural and Pastoral Show The history of the
Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral is linked to the history of the A&P Show, which has grown over the
years to become the largest A&P Show in New Zealand. In 1863, it was an association under the
Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act 1908.
When does the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral start? The A and P show is held in November the 10
to 12.
When was the first ever A and P show held? First agricultural show in Canterbury was held by the
Canterbury Pastoral Association on 14 September 1859 at a farm on the north bank of the Rangitata
River.
Why did they make the A and P show? They were to display livestock and promote breeding of stud
animals to make more stock.
What is pastoral day important? So on 13 November and 5,300 NZ people died in one
day
