Term 1 reflection

 I think that term 1 was good we had new kids and the work was fun. We are getting school launch for free know. We are still doing fitness and we have new literacy groups. Or of my year 7 friends are now in my class. 

Sealers and Whalers arrived in NZ

 Sealers and Whalers arrival in Aotearoa.

We did his for Inquiry. We lent about sealers and whalers when they arrived in New Zealand. and I put in the link to where I got information.

Why did whalers and sealers come To NZ? This European explosion first impacted on New Zealand in the closing decade of the 18th century when sealers and whalers began to arrive in their hundreds seeking to exploit local resources. link	When did whalers come to NZ? What is sealing and whaling? Whaling happened because of the skull’ oil and bones. Sealing  happened in 1830 and the NZ seal was on words of extinction but it was outlewd in 1926. Link	How did whalers kill whales? the whalers fired a harpoon into the whale. The harpoon was attached to a long rope, and the whale would drag the vessel until it became exhausted. Link	How did sealers kill seals? The work was dangerous. The men would hunt at night, and many slipped on the rocks and drowned. Using clubs, they would quickly kill all the seals in a group. Then they would take off the skins and hang them out to dry. Link to
What did ‘hunters’ gain from seals and whales?The hunt for Whales and seals was the reason for the initial exploration of Antarctica. Reports of abundant stocks drew the adventurous from the early 1800's onwards. Before long there were major crashes in the populations of some wildlife. The Antarctic fur seal for example was almost totally wiped out at many locations by 1830 leading to a decline in the sealing industry although it continued on a smaller scale well into the 1900's. ANZAC Research: Bunker

 This is what bunkers used for a bunker is a defensive military fortification designed to protect people and valued materials from falling bombs or other attacks. Bunkers are mostly underground, in contrast to blockhouses which are mostly above ground.

In literacy we have this worksheet what time does Anzac Day related stuff. The first thing we did was make an  Anzac Day Poppy on Pixel Art because Anzac Day is nearly here. I added some shading  and this is what mine looks like.

This week in math we did a sheet it had square roots and multiples. Then we had to make a graph and it looked like this.

The weekend

 The Weekend

On the weekend I hang out with my neighbour Aiden. The first thing we did was go outside on a trampoline. It was so hot outside so we decided to have a water fight with his hose. We decided to put the hose under the trampoline cover and over the springs so that we had to jump over it.  Then he put a bet of cardboard on the trampoline and we used it as a shield against the hose. I could hear the sound of running water splashing from the hose and I heard his dog barking furioulsly at his three cats. Then we went back inside because we got cold and were bored. The PS4 got another thrashing and then I had to go home for dinner. I went to my dad’s and sisters karate grading but that is a different story.

In tech I did sewing and woodwork in sowing we finished my bag that had save the turtle and stop pollution. Then in woodwork I finished my big frame it is a diamond on it as the frame.
